First rule of urbex: “Take only photographs, leave only footprints.”
Happy new year!
May the luck be with you during the explorations in forthcoming year 2011, and in the next years too of course.
Cheers!
Quick protests. So welcome back categories:>
Now it's like that:
Exterior.
Industrial interior.
Abandoned public places (hospital, church, school, prison, shop, etc...) - non-industrial interior.
Abandoned private places - houses, villas, castles... (still non-industrial interior).
Below the ground - mine, drain, tunnel...
Transportation & misc - car, train, railway etc.

But it's still changed.

And if you don't care about categories, you still have everything alltogether in your DA message center... so you can watch everything altogether:P
Hi. So, from now you can submit photos into a three folders:
exterior,
interior
and others (miscellenous).

Some people suggest that it's better to have only that kind of different folders, not all the categories like mines, hospitals, factories, houses etc. If you disagree - do comment! if more people prefer different categories it could be changed. if you are glad from these categories - comment it too! it would be nice to know, how many people enjoy which kind of it.

Little reminder: and it's better not to send every photo you made at the place you've been - choose these best!

Other interesting thing is that Deviantart finally made a special category for urbex photos - you can find it on Urban and Rural section - here: browse.deviantart.com/photogra…
(of course there is a mess, some people still thing that urban exploration means any kind of photo taken in the city...but at least there is a proper category... )
Hi everybody. The gallery folder called "Featured" is now full. If you try to submit something there, it the error: "the target folder is over its size limit". So from that reason from now one, if you like to submit something, you must choose different one. The easiest way is to make "Featured 2" (as it's now made). But maybe the better option are the theme folders. So then, if you are interested in for example only factories, you can find their photos separated from the rest, or if you are interested in houses, they will be away from industry etc.
So my question is, what categories are important for you, or you thing it will be good if they will be?
For now on I made:
1) outside - it's about all photos of abandoned places, which are made not inside, but outside (easy, yeah?)
2) inside the factory - all kind of factories, maybe powerplants too (?)
3) inside the building - inside the houses, shops, prisons or whatever has walls and is not a factory...
4) details - when you focus only on a small part of place, not the room/place itself - like a part of peelining paint, or a graffiti on the wall...
4) others - anything that doesn't suit the other categories (maybe it's forgotten car, or abandoned train, or a part of ruin...)

do you want a special category for something else? or some other themes?do suggest then in comment here!

I was thinking about separeting b&w photos, but then they won't be categorised in other way that colour.. or they will be categorised twicely, so it's not fair (and not comfortably to make). so maybe not(?)

(some of the photos which were submitted to the main folder before the space ended are still waiting for some action, I will do something with them soon)
